Woman Seriously Injured in San Diego Hit-and-Run Near 54th Street and Euclid Avenue

According to an article published by the San Diego Union-Tribune, the accident took place on Wednesday night. Officers reported the collision shortly before 9 p.m.

San Diego police said a car struck a female pedestrian for an unknown reason in the Oak Park neighborhood. The vehicle hit her near the corner of 54th Street and Euclid Avenue.

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene, a few blocks north of State Route 94. They found the woman left in the roadway as a result of the collision.

The victim sustained multiple leg fractures to at least one of her legs due to the impact. Medical personnel then rushed her to a hospital for treatment.

Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded patient and her condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the driver involved did not stop to render aid to the pedestrian and fled the area.

Officers described the car involved as a red colored sedan. CHP forced the intersection of 54th Street and Euclid Avenue to shut down following the collision.

The San Diego hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
