Man, 49, Seriously Injured in San Diego Hit-and-Run Crash on El Cajon Boulevard
SAN DIEGO, CA (May 31, 2021) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after a hit-and-run crash on El Cajon Boulevard in San Diego.
San Diego Union-Tribune wrote that the accident took place early Monday. Officers reported the collision shortly after 1:20 a.m.
The incident happened when a male pedestrian was crossing in the 6600 block of El Cajon Boulevard in San Diego. He was walking in an unmarked crosswalk at the time.
Police said for an unknown reason, a vehicle struck the 49-year-old man in the No.1 eastbound lane of the road. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.

They found the victim left suffering from major injuries as a result of the crash. Medical personnel then rushed him to a hospital for treatment of an open fracture of his lower right leg.
Officials did not release the name of the patient and his condition at this time. Meanwhile, police affirmed that the driver involved did not stop to render aid to the pedestrian and fled the area.
Officers described the car as a dark colored sedan and are still searching for the suspect. They forced a portion of the El Cajon Boulevard to shut down following the hit-and-run collision.
The cause of the San Diego crash is still under investigation.
