Woman, 87, Seriously Injured in San Diego Hit-and-Run Crash on G Street
SAN DEIGO, CA (May 30, 2021) – An elderly pedestrian was seriously injured after a hit-and-run crash on G Street in downtown San Diego.
The incident happened when a female pedestrian was crossing 700 West G Street from the north sidewalk to the south. At the same time, a vehicle was going east.
San Diego police said for an unknown reason, the driver involved hit the 87-year-old woman. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene near Kettner Boulevard.
Elderly Pedestrian Hit by Car
Medical personnel then found the victim left suffering from major injuries as a result of the collision. They rushed her to UCSD hospital for treatment of a brain bleed and laceration to the back of her head.
Officials did not disclose the name of the elderly patient and her condition at this time. Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the woman and fled eastbound.
Officers described the car as a 2013 to 2015 white Nissan Altima. They forced a portion of G Street to close following the San Diego hit-and-run crash.
