Woman Injured in Pedestrian Accident; DUI Driver Arrested
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Sept. 5, 2018) — A pedestrian was injured Tuesday night when they were struck by a suspected DUI driver while walking near First Avenue and the on-ramp to the northbound Interstate 5 Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
UPDATE: Daniel Murillo Velasquez,74, of Carlsbad was located about 11:20 p.m. the same day and arrested on DUI charges.
The crash took place about 8:45 p.m. in the Bankers Hill neighborhood.
Paramedics responded to help the injured woman, but the extent of the woman’s injuries was not known.
