The incident was reported at 7:07 p.m. on Washington Street near Highway 163.
Specifics regarding the exact cause of the collision remain unclear, however, preliminary investigations have disclosed that the pedestrian was struck as the driver attempted to merge lanes.
After hitting the pedestrian, the driver was confirmed to have gotten out of the vehicle to provide immediate assistance to the victim who was unconscious, the article added.
Fortunately, there were nurses in the area who were just getting off work who attended to the injured party.
Paramedics eventually arrived at the scene and transported the unidentified victim to a local area hospital.
