LINCOLN PARK, San Diego County (January 15, 2018) – Two people, including a San Diego police officer, were injured after a car accident in Lincoln Park neighborhood early Monday.

According to the CBS News, the patrol car was struck by a speeding vehicle near the 5000 block of Logan Avenue at about 12:40 a.m.

Responding medical personnel found a San Diego police officer, and a female passenger in the suspect vehicle who both appeared to be hurt. Medical reports indicated that the two parties were taken to hospitals for treatment of minor injuries.

Meanwhile, officials said that the speeding motorist attempted to evade on foot following the wreck. Officers were able to apprehend and arrest the man.

Authorities believed the suspect was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the collision. Further investigation is ongoing at this time.
