Over 30 Students Hospitalized After School Bus Rear-Ended
SAN DIEGO (December 19, 2018)- According to CBS 8 News, a school bus carrying over 30 students was involved in a rear-end collision this morning on Genesee Avenue.
At roughly 8:30 a.m., San Diego police officials were dispatched to the crash site where an Infiniti sedan struck a school bus from behind.
On board the bus were students who attend University High School being transported to their early morning classes.

According to the report, over 30 students suffered injuries for which they were all taken to the hospital at Scripps Memorial for assessment including 11 who were transported via ambulance.
San Diego police authorities confirmed that the driver of the Infiniti who triggered the collision is believed to be a woman in her 70s. It remains unclear whether or not she was injured following the accident.
California Highway Patrol officials also assisted with the accident as well helping shut down the on-ramp from westbound Highway 52 to northbound Genesee Avenue.
Authorities did not indicate there to have been any involvement of drugs or alcohol on the part of the Infiniti driver.
No additional details have been made available as the investigation is ongoing.
