Rider Injured in Traffic Collision at Broadway and 4th Avenue Saturday
San Diego, CA (July 18, 2021) – A man riding an electric scooter suffered injuries following a road accident in the area of Broadway and 4th Avenue Saturday morning.
According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, the rider collided with an Uber or Lyft driver at the intersection in downtown San Diego.
The crash took place at about 12:30 a.m.
Primary reports indicated the force from the impact caused the scooter rider to hit the windshield of the car. Subsequently, the man rolled and fell onto the ground.

When emergency teams arrived at the location, they immediately attended to the scooter rider. Officials said the man suffered serious injuries. Due to their condition, an ambulance rushed the patient to a local hospital for treatment.
Authorities later mentioned the Uber or Lyft driver pulled over after the collision. The motorist cooperated with the investigation process.
At this time, detectives continue to work to determine several factors surrounding the car and scooter accident in San Diego.
