Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Vehicle on 80 Freeway
LOCATION: San Francisco Bay Bridge
DATE OF ACCIDENT: Monday, January 7th
January 8, 2019 – A fatal pedestrian accident occurred on the eastbound Interstate 80 Freeway late Monday evening, according to the Mercury News.
At approximately 11:44 p.m., an unidentified person was reportedly struck by a vehicle on I-80 on the incline of the Bay Bridge near Bryant Street on-ramp.
Deadly Pedestrian Accident Monday in Bay Bridge
The collision resulted in fatal injuries to the pedestrian, who was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics. Pending notification of next of kin, the name of the fatality remained undisclosed.
Meanwhile, officials mentioned the driver of the vehicle involved cooperated with the investigation process. No arrests have been made at this time.
Detectives handling the case continue to work to determine liability in the deadly accident.
