Timothy Doyle Struck by Police Vehicle in San Francisco at Second and Mission Streets
SAN FRANCISCO, California (May 14, 2016) – Middle-aged cyclist Timothy Doyle suffered multiple injuries after being struck by a police vehicle at Second and Mission streets, according to an article by San Francisco CBS Local.
The accident happened on May 12.
As per the article, Doyle attempted to pedal through the intersection when the light suddenly turned yellow. He forcefully applied brakes and came to a stop before the traffic light.
Suddenly, a police car from the right-hand of the roadway veered left into the bike lane. The police car struck Doyle who was halted at the moment of the collision.
He was immediately transported to San Francisco General Hospital where he was treated for a hairline fracture in his back, bruised ribs and a calf injury, as mentioned in the article.
