Cyclist Fatally Struck by Vehicle at Oak Street and Octavia Boulevard
San Francisco, CA (June 1, 2022) – One person died following traffic crash that occurred in the area of Oak Street and Octavia Boulevard.
According to CBS News, a vehicle struck a man riding a bicycle at the intersection in the Hayes Valley neighborhood of San Francisco. The make and model of the car involved in the collision have not been revealed thus far.
Earlier reports indicated the catastrophic incident took place Wednesday at about 4 a.m.
When emergency crews arrived at the location, they found the male cyclist unconscious and lying on the ground. Responding paramedics performed life-saving measures to the victim but he sadly succumbed to his injuries and died. Authorities continue to withhold the identity of the deceased pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, officials mentioned the driver stayed at the scene following the collision.
Investigators continue to work to determine the precise cause of the deadly accident at Oak Street and Octavia Boulevard.
