1 Killed, 1 Hurt in Crash at 24th and Santiago
San Francisco, CA (October 24, 2022) – One person died, and another suffered injuries following a pedestrian accident that occurred Monday in the area of 24th Avenue and Santiago Street.
According to ABC News, two elderly women were walking across a marked crosswalk at the intersection in the Sunset District. The horrible crash happened when a driver failed to slow down as they approached the crossing of 24th and Santiago. Officials said the motorist was traveling at a high rate of speed; and ran a stop sign before hitting the two pedestrians.
Fatal Pedestrian Accident in San Francisco
Emergency crews responded to the crash site and found two females, believed to be seniors, suffering in injuries. Medical personnel performed life-saving measures to both victims but one woman sadly succumbed to her trauma and passed away. Meanwhile, rescue teams rushed the second victim to a hospital for further treatment.
Meanwhile, no immediate information was available on the driver involved in the catastrophic incident.
Investigators handling the case continue to work to determine the precise cause of the unfortunate event that happened on 24th Avenue.
