SAN FRANCISCO, California (March 24, 2017) – A fatal traffic collision occurred on the Interstate 280 Freeway late Friday night, according to California Highway Patrol dispatch team.
The accident took place shortly before 11 p.m. on the northbound 280 Freeway, just south of Alemany Boulevard on-ramp.
CHP first logged the incident when a man was found down in the No. 3 lane. Paramedics responded and pronounced the victim, who was wearing a black jacket, dead at the scene.
His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, the dispatch mentioned that several vehicles were seen in the area where the deadly accident happened. It was not immediately known whether the deceased was struck or was an occupant of a car spotted on the freeway.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
