SAN FRANCISCO, California (March 28, 2016) — A woman was killed Monday morning in a pedestrian crash on the southbound Interstate 280 Freeway at the Alemany Boulevard on ramp, a California Highway Patrol report said.
The casualty was identified by the SF Examiner as 23-year-old Alexandra Stevenson.
The CHP received a report about 6:20 a.m. from a caller who said there was someone crawling in the middle lanes and a second person sitting in the roadway between the Nos. 1 and 2 lanes.
Vehicles were swerving to avoid hitting the pedestrian, but at least one person struck Stevenson who died a the scene. It’s unclear from this report why there were people on foot in the freeway, but police are investigating the crash to find out liability.
