SAN FRANCISCO, California (October 13, 2016) — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a driver Thursday morning on the Interstate 80 Freeway at the connection to the US 101 Freeway north, a California Highway Patrol report said.
The crash took place about 5:06 a.m. this morning. The driver of a grey 1997 Ford Ranger pickup truck reportedly struck the pedestrian causing major injuries. Paramedics responded and transported the injured victim to a local hospital in critical condition. The person died of their injuries at some point, but details were not provided.
Police closed down the No. 4 lane to investigate the crash.
