SAN FRANCISCO (June 23, 2016)- According to the KRON 4 News, a bicyclist identified as Katherine Slattery , 26, of San Francisco, was the victim of a deadly hit-and-run collision Wednesday evening at the intersection of 7th and Howard streets.
At 8:30 p.m., Katherine Slattery was entering the intersection upon being struck by a driver who had run a red light just before the collision.
The suspect failed to pull over and render aid and proceeded to flee the scene.
Per KRON 4 News, Slattery tragically sustained fatal traumatic injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police officials released a statement later on confirming that the hit-and-run suspect was located and arrested. He has since been identified as Farrukh Mushtaq, 32, of San Francisco.
He faces both hit-and-run as well as vehicular manslaughter charges.
