1 Seriously Injured in San Francisco Crash on Interstate 280 Near Geneva Avenue
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (October 9, 2021) – At least one was seriously injured after a crash on the Interstate 280 near Geneva Avenue in San Francisco.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident took place on Saturday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 4 p.m.
CHP said two motorcycle riders and a black Toyota Prius collided for an unknown reason in San Francisco. The three crashed on the northbound Interstate 280, just north of Geneva Avenue.
2 Motorcycles and Car Collide
The car obtained side and rear damage while one of the bikes caught fire upon impact. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near San Jose Avenue.
Medical personnel found one person who ended up suffering from major injuries as a result of the collision. They then took the wounded party to a hospital for treatment.
The report did not disclose the name of the patient and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, the cause of the San Francisco crash is still under investigation.
CHP forced the northbound lanes of the Interstate 280 to shut down for about two hours near Geneva and San Jose following the wreck.
