Pedestrian Severely Injured in San Francisco DUI Crash Near 23rd and De Haro Streets

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (August 3, 2021) – A DUI crash severely injured a pedestrian at 23rd Street and De Haro Street in San Francisco.

According to an article published by the KRON 4 News, the accident took place on Tuesday night. Officers reported the incident at around 8:36 p.m.

San Francisco police said a vehicle struck a male pedestrian in the Potrero Hill neighborhood. The driver hit him near the intersection of 23rd Street and De Haro Street.

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found the man in his 30s hurt. He sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash.

Medical personnel then rushed the victim to a hospital for treatment. Officials did not release his name and condition at this time.

Meanwhile, police determined that the driver and female passenger of the car were under the influence when at the time. They soon arrested the person driving the vehicle for DUI.

Authorities also detained the passenger for interfering and resisting. Police forced the area of 23rd Street and De Haro Street to shut down following the collision.

The San Francisco pedestrian DUI crash is still under investigation.
