SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (June 22, 2023) — Two people were injured Wednesday afternoon after a San Francisco police patrol SUV crash into the Lucca Ravioli deli at 22nd Street and Valencia Street.
The collision occurred around 5:10 p.m. on June 21st, according to KRON 4 News.
Two people were injured when a San Francisco police patrol vehicle crashed into the corner building in the city’s Mission District, police said.
The crash ended a police pursuit of a car believed to be involved in a violent crime. The police vehicle was following the suspect, but swerved into the deli to avoid hitting a motorcyclist that turned in front of the police vehicle. The police SUV crashed into the store and the bike also crashed.
Paramedics responded and located a child pedestrian near the deli with non-life threatening injuries. The motorcyclist also survived with minor injuries. Both were transported to the hospital for further treatment.
Meanwhile, there were no injured police officers.
The cause of the crash and liability is under investigation.
