Woman, 59; and Granddaughter, 1, Killed in Hit-and-Run at Del Mar and Live Oak
SAN GABRIEL (October 27, 2018) – A woman and her granddaughter were killed after an alleged hit-and-run accident in the area of Del Mar Avenue and Live Oak Street Saturday night, according to KTLA and SGVT.
The collision took place at about 9:35 p.m.
As per the reports, police said a 59-year-old woman was pushing her 1-year-old granddaughter in a stroller when they were struck by a vehicle.
The two were reportedly walking in a crosswalk at the intersection of Del Mar Avenue and Live Oak Street when they were hit by a suspected speeding motorist.

Police affirmed that the woman was taken to San Gabriel Valley Medical Center while the child was rushed to Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center, where they later died. Their names have not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, the driver involved did not stop to render aid and fled east on Las Tunas Drive. The suspect car was described as a midnight blue Chevy S-10 Extreme pickup truck with decals which sustained major front-end damage.
A video surveillance showed that the truck’s side headlight was dangling after the crash while the Chevy emblem from the front grill was located at the site. The investigation is ongoing.
