SAN GORGONIO PASS, California (May 12, 2014) – A driver was injured Monday morning when a board flew off the back of a big rig truck and crashed into a Chevrolet pickup truck on the eastbound Interstate 10 Freeway, just west of Morongo Trail at Mike Marker 17, according to a dispatch by the California Highway Patrol.
At approximately 10:30 a.m., CHP officers responded to the accident after a caller told them about the accident between the two drivers. Paramedics responded and transported the injured person by the name of Wagner to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, California. The injured person was treated at the emergency room, but no further details were provided.
“Police are investigating the accident to determine exactly what happened and whether charges will be filed against the big rig truck for not securing the item that fell off the back,” said Attorney James Johnson. “A police report will be released upon completion of the investigation and this can be used to file a claim by anyone injured for compensation for their losses.”
