SAN JACINTO: Boy, 16, Hit by Pickup Truck in Pedestrian Accident on Cawston Avenue

shutterstock_232519360SAN JACINTO, California (February 11, 2015) —   A 16-year-old Tahquitz High School student was struck by  a driver and injured Tuesday morning on Cawston Avenue, just north of Esplande Avenue, according to a press release by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

About 7:32 a.m., the teenage boy was walking on Cawston Avenue on his way to school when the driver of a pickup truck driving in the same direction lost control of the vehicle. The pickup overturned after it slide off the edge of the roadway into a culvert. The boy and two occupants of the pickup truck were injured. Paramedics responded and transported all three to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Paramedics responded, however, there were no further details about possible injuries.
The San Jacinto Police Department is heading up an investigation into the incident and will issue a report with their findings. Witnesses are asked to contact the police department at 951-487-7352.
