The incident was reported at 11:50 p.m. on San Jacinto Avenue as Chase had been walking along on or near the curb before being struck by what at least one witness said to have been a Honda Civic.
Chase was rushed to a trauma center, where he remains in grave condition until passing away Wednesday, nine days following the incident.
Authorities are looking for assistance from the public who may have information on the suspect as it believed that the license plate has the number “74” within it.
Anyone with information is strongly encouraged to contact the San Jacinto sheriff’s department at 951-654-2702.
