Boy Fatally Struck by Vehicle Near Ramona Expressway Wednesday
San Jacinto, CA (January 5, 2022) – A juvenile bicyclist died following a traffic accident that occurred on Bryce Canyon Way Wednesday morning.
UPDATE: The boy killed in this collision is identified on the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner’s website.
According to CBS News, a Dodge Ram 3500 heavy duty pickup struck a boy riding his bicycle in the 400 block of Bryce Canyon Way. Earlier reports indicated the incident took place just north of the Ramona Expressway in San Jacinto.
Officials mentioned the Dodge involved in the wreck was hauling a utility trailer.
Shortly after 11:30 a.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. First responders found the boy lying on the ground. Despite life-saving measures, the cyclist succumbed to his injuries and died. The exact age of the fatal victim remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Detectives stayed at the scene the whole morning to determine several unclear factors surrounding the horrible crash. Further investigation is ongoing on the deadly bicycle accident on Bryce Canyon Way in San Jacinto.
