Per the report, a total of seven vehicles were involved in the wreck which occurred at 4:47 p.m.
Authorities were informed that a Pontiac Grand Prix had been traveling at high speeds northbound on State Street crossing the intersection and hitting vehicle waiting at a light. The initial collision triggered a series of collisions injuring several motorists.
Multiple victims suffered moderate injuries and were transported from the scene to a hospital for assessment and treatment.
Meanwhile, the Pontiac driver was seriously injured and determined to have been under the influence and also believed to have been involved in some sort of crime prior in the city of Hemet.
He will face multiple charges after being released from the hospital.
The San Jacinto Police Department will be the agency handling the investigation.
