1 Seriously Injured in San Jacinto Hit-and-Run Crash on Gilman Springs Road
SAN JACINTO, CA (October 24, 2021) – At least one was seriously injured after a hit-and-run crash on Gilman Springs Road near Golden Era in San Jacinto.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident took place early Sunday. Officers reported the wreck at about 2:53 a.m.
The incident began when a black Toyota Camry tried to pass another vehicle on the bridge in San Jacinto. The Toyota spun out of control and then slammed into a red 2013 Chevrolet Cruze LTZ.
CHP said the two crashed on eastbound Gilman Springs Road near the Golden Era. The Chevrolet went into a ditch upon impact
2 Cars Collide Near Golden Era
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found an occupant of the Cruz who ended up suffering from major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the victim to a hospital for treatment. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded patient and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the driver of the Camry did not stop to render aid and fled eastbound. Officers forced a stretch of Gilman Springs Road to shut down following the wreck.
The San Jacinto hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
