San Jacinto Pedestrian Accident
Responding paramedics found the pedestrian suffering in pain at the scene of the crash. Officials said the victim was immediately transported to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Until today, no updates have been disclosed yet on the condition of the pedestrian.
Authorities later said that State Street is considered a major road, and the pedestrian might possibly be jaywalking when the collision took place. The area was closed for about three hours to give way to further investigation.
Meanwhile, no immediate information was provided on the Ford driver. It was not clear whether the involved motorist stopped following the incident.
Based on this news report, it remained unclear if the van driver will be held liable for hitting the pedestrian. There are still several unanswered factors at this time—was the driver under the influence of alcohol or drugs during the accident? Did excessive speed or distracted driving play a role? Was the pedestrian in a crosswalk at the time of the collision? The public should be assured that officials are looking into these, and that they are doing their best efforts to determine precisely what occurred in this pedestrian accident.
