1 Seriously Injured in San Joaquin County Crash at Highway 88 and Liberty Road
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CA (August 28, 2021) – A crash seriously injured at least one person at Highway 88 and Liberty Road in San Joaquin County.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the wreck occurred on Saturday afternoon. Officers reported the accident shortly after 2 p.m.
CHP said a minivan and a small sedan collided head-on for an unknown reason in San Joaquin County. They crashed on Highway 88 at the intersection with Liberty Road.
2 Vehicles Collide Head-On
One of the vehicles involved went off the roadway and rolled over upon impact. Fire department officials along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the 88 Market and Grill store.
Firefighters then extricated trapped occupants from the wreckage. They confirmed that one person sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel took the patient to a hospital for treatment. The name of the wounded party and their condition at this time were not disclosed.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the area of Highway 88 and Liberty Road to shut down following the wreck. The cause of the San Joaquin County crash is still under investigation.
