Multi-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 280 Freeway in San Jose
SAN JOSE, Calif. (Dec. 4, 2019) — Several people were hurt early Wednesday morning in a nine-vehicle collision on the northbound Interstate 280 Freeway near the Guadalupe Parkway exit in San Jose.
The crash took place at 5:34 a.m. during a downpour of rain. The chain-reaction collision resulted in many, heavily damaged vehicles that ended up near the center divide median, according to the California Highway Patrol report.
Paramedics responded and firefighters extricated at least two people using the jaws of life to free them from the damaged vehicles.
The CHP said the cause of the crash was under investigation.
