4-Vehicle Collision on Southbound I-880 Freeway

SAN JOSE, Calif. (March 13, 2025) — A multi-vehicle San Jose car accident happened Thursday morning on the southbound Interstate 880 Freeway, just south of the Bascom Avenue South on-ramp.

The traffic collision occurred amid light rain in the area around 7:33 a.m. on March 13th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officials reported the drivers of a gray Toyota RAV4 SUV, a white Ford F-650 roofing truck, a silver Toyota Camry, and a silver Toyota Prius were involved.

Initial reports stated the roofing truck set off a chain-reaction crash with the RAV4 and the Camry in the slow lane. Paramedics responded to help at least one person with complaints of pain, but there are no further details.

Furthermore, tow trucks were called to remove the Camry with rear-end damage, the Prius with major front and rear damage, and the RAV4 with moderate left front damage, and the Ford truck with major front-end damage.

Investigators are working to determine fault for the crash.
