3 Injured in San Jose Crash on Interstate 680 Near Alum Rock Avenue
SAN JOSE, CA (August 31, 2021) – Several were hospitalized after a car crash on the Interstate 680 near Alum Rock Avenue in San Jose.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the wreck took place early Tuesday morning. Officers reported the accident shortly before 4 a.m.
According to CHP, five vehicles collided for an unknown reason in the city of San Jose. They crashed on the northbound side of the Interstate 680, just north of Alum Rock Avenue.
One of the cars involved obtained major front-end damage upon impact. The incident log described two of the vehicles as a brown Acura TL and a green van.
Multiple Vehicles Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found a total of three people hurt. They sustained unspecified injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel took two patients to the Regional Medical Center for treatment. They transported the third victim to the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center for further aid.
Officials did not disclose the names of the wounded parties and their condition at the time. Meanwhile, CHP shut down the northbound lanes of the Interstate 680 near Alum Rock following the wreck.
Authorities are still determining the cause of the San Jose crash.
