Lydia Rodriguez, 75, Dies After San Jose Car Crash on June 26
SAN JOSE, CA (October 9, 2020) – Authorities identified Lydia Rodriguez as the driver killed in San Jose car crash at King Road and Alum Rock Avenue.
The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office said the 75-year-old Daly City woman died following the collision on June 26.
The incident began when for an unknown reason Lydia Rodriguez was driving a 2004 Toyota Camry at a high rate of speed eastbound on Alum Rock Avenue.
Police said Rodriguez then ran through a red light at the intersection with North King Road. The Toyota collided with a 2002 Dodge Durango.
3 Injured in Fatal Car Accident King Road and Alum Rock Avenue
The wreck occurred shortly after 10 p.m. Paramedics rushed the elderly woman to the hospital, where they pronounced her dead on June 30.
According to the article published by The Mercury News, the man driving the Durango and his two adult passengers ended up injured upon impact.
Medical personnel transported all three victims to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Their names and condition at this time were not released.
Meanwhile, the fatal car crash remains under investigation.
