SAN JOSE, Calif. (Feb. 1, 2023) — A fatal multi-vehicle crash in San Jose happened Wednesday on the northbound Highway 101, just north of the Story Road off ramp.
The collision occurred about 5:55 a.m. on Feb. 1st in the middle lanes of the highway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the drivers of a Honda Civic, a Toyota Avalon and a Toyota Yaris are involved in the wreck. Police issued a SigAlert due to vehicles blocking the northbound Nos. 1, 2 and 3 lanes of Highway 101.
Paramedics with the San Jose Fire Department responded with an ambulance due to at least one person with major injuries. Sadly, at least one person later died from their injuries.
Police did not mention how many people were hurt or their identities at this time.
Meanwhile, tow trucks came to remove the damaged vehicles and investigators are piecing together what happened to determine fault for the crash on Highway 101 in San Jose.
