SUV Strikes, Kills Man at Cherry Avenue and Almaden Expressway
San Jose, CA (November 4, 2022) – A pedestrian died following a traffic accident that occurred in the area of Cherry Avenue and Almaden Expressway.
The KTVU News reported a 2020 Hyundai sports utility vehicle struck a person at the intersection in San Jose Wednesday morning. According to the article published online, the pedestrian was walking through the crossing without any marked crosswalk. Officials said a passing vehicle did not notice the man in the middle of the roadway, and hit him.
Fatal Pedestrian Accident in San Jose
Shortly after 4:36 a.m., rescue teams arrived at the crash site. First responders immediately rendered aid to the victim found suffering in serous injuries. Authorities later confirmed the pedestrian sadly passed away. At this time, it remained unclear whether the victim died at the scene or at a hospital. The identity of the deceased remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, the driver of the SUV appeared unharmed after the collision. The motorist stayed in the area and cooperated with the investigation process.
Detectives handling the case continue to work at this time to determine liability in the deadly accident that happened at Cherry Avenue and Almaden Expressway.
