San Jose: Deadly Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 680

Teenager Struck by 5 Vehicles Near Jackson Avenue

San Jose, CA (October 24, 2022) – A 16-year-old girl died following a pedestrian accident that occurred on the Interstate 680 Freeway.

According to KRON4 News, several vehicles struck the minor in the southbound side of the freeway near Jackson Avenue. Earlier reports indicated a GMC Canyon first hit the teenager. Subsequently, motorists traveling behind the GMC were unable to avoid the body lying in the roadway. Officials mentioned one of the five vehicles involved in the horrible crash was a tractor-trailer combination.

Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 680 in San Jose

Shortly after 12:37 a.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. Responding paramedics sadly pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. Authorities only identified the deceased as a 16-year-old female San Jose resident.

Several factors surrounding the unfortunate event remained unclear. At this time, detectives continue to investigate the precise cause of the deadly accident that happened on Interstate 680 in San Jose.
