Bicycle Rider Killed in San Jose Crash on Brokaw Road Near Interstate 880
SAN JOSE, CA (April 5, 2021) – A bicycle rider was killed after an accident along Brokaw Road near Intestate 880 in San Jose.
According to the East Bay Times and SF Gate, the tragic collision on Monday afternoon. Officers reported the crash at around 4:30 p.m.
The incident happened when a man was riding a bicycle across the lanes of westbound Brokaw Road in San Jose. Police said at the same time, a pickup truck was going the same direction.
For an unknown reason, the vehicle struck the bicyclist near the Interstate 880. Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and found him down on the ground as a result of the accident.

Medical personnel rushed the cyclist to a hospital, where he later died. His name remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the driver of the pickup stopped after hitting the bicycle rider. The motorist stayed at the crash site and cooperated with the authorities.
Officials soon forced Brokaw Road to close for a time following the San Jose collision. The cause of the fatal incident is still under investigation.
