Woman Dies at Hospital After Collision Near Blossom Hill Exit
San Jose, CA (October 31, 2022) – An 81-year-old female died a couple of days following a car accident that occurred on State Route Highway 17.
The East Bay Times News reported the elderly woman was a passenger in a 2017 Ford E450 truck heading south on the freeway in San Jose. When the Ford approached the area near the Blossom Hill exit, the driver made an unsafe turn. Officials said the Ford driver lost control of the car, and slammed into the back of a 2013 Toyota Prius.
Shortly after 11 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the crash site. First responders found the Ford wrecked after hitting multiple trees along the roadway.
Fatal Car Accident on Highway 17 in San Jose
Medical personnel rendered aid to all parties involved in the wreck. After the evaluation, medical personnel transported the 81-year-old female passenger to a hospital for further treatment. On October 26, two days after the collision, the patient sadly succumbed to her injuries and passed away. Authorities continue to withhold the identity of the deceased pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
No other injuries were reported after the accident.
At this time, detectives continue to investigate the precise cause of the fatal crash that happened on Highway 17 in San Jose.
