Man Dies Two Weeks After Head-on Collision in San Jose

SAN JOSE, Calif. (March 4, 2025) — A driver died Sunday at the hospital roughly two weeks after a crash in San Jose at Almaden Expressway and Bryan Avenue.

The motorist was badly injured in a crash around 1:35 p.m. on February 18, 2025, according to a press release from the San José Police Department.

The collision involved multiple vehicles including a white 2012 Infiniti sedan driven by the man who later died.

The man was traveling southbound in the Infiniti at a high rate of speed along Almaden Expressway when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle.

Police say the Infiniti sideswiped a 2015 blue Ford coupe driven by another man. The Infiniti continued to travel across the center median into oncoming traffic on the northbound side of the Almaden Expressway where it crashed head-on with a 2024 grey Hyundai sedan.

Paramedics responded and rushed the female driver from the Hyundai to a local hospital where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Infiniti was transported to a local hospital with major injuries and later died at the hospital on March 2nd.

The Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office has not identified the man at this time.

However, police say this was the 6th fatal collision and 6th traffic death of 2025.
