1 Killed in San Jose Fiery Crash on Northbound Highway 101
SAN JOSE, CA (March 2, 2021) – At least one died after a car crash along Highway 101 in San Jose. on Tuesday morning.
The California Highway Patrol said four vehicles collided for an unknown reason on northbound Highway 101 in San Jose. They crashed just south of the Alum Rock Avenue exit.
Multi-Vehicle Collision Near Alum Rock Avenue
Officials found a tow truck and a sedan in flames on the right shoulder. They also located a third vehicle stopped ahead of the two, and a fourth vehicle still on the highway.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded and then found the female driver of the sedan trapped inside the burning wreckage. They pronounced her dead at the scene.
The name of the deceased victim has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, officers soon forced the two right lanes of Highway 101 to close for a time following the crash.
The fatal collision is still under investigation.
