2 Killed, 1 Injured in San Jose Crash Near Bailey Avenue and Monterey Road
SAN JOSE, CA (November 5, 2021) – A head-on crash killed two people and injured another near Bailey Avenue and Monterey Road in San Jose.
According to The Mercury News and KTVU News, the tragic accident took place on Friday morning. Officers reported the wreck at about 10:13 a.m.
The incident happened when a 1991 Chevrolet pickup truck was going west on Bailey Avenue, east of Monterey Road, in San Jose. At the same time, a 2019 BMW was traveling east.
For an unknown reason, the pickup veered into the eastbound lanes. Police said the truck then slammed head-on to the BMW.
2 Cars Collide Head-On
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and pronounced the woman riding as a passenger in the Chevrolet dead at the scene. They rushed the male driver of the pickup to a hospital, where he died.
Police added that the man driving the BMW sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel took him for treatment.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, officers forced the area of Bailey Avenue and Monterey Road to shut down following the wreck.
The cause of the fatal San Jose crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the police at 408-277-4654.
