Man Killed San Jose Hit-and-Run on Interstate Highway 280
SAN JOSE (March 6, 2018) – A man was killed after an alleged hit-and-run accident on the Interstate Highway 280 Monday evening, according to The Mercury News.
The victim, whose name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin, was fatally struck after he exited his vehicle which was involved in a traffic collision near McLaughlin Avenue.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol said the initial wreck was reported around 7:05 p.m. on southbound Highway 280 when for an unknown reason a green Honda sedan collided with a white Chevrolet pickup truck. The driver of the Honda then lost control and crashed into a tan Toyota sedan.
The truck ended up in the center divider while the other two cars came to a stop in the traffic lanes. The man driving the Honda stepped out and was ultimately hit by a vehicle headed south.

The man died and the southbound motorist did not stop and left the scene.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the three children riding in the back seat of the Toyota were unharmed but their father was hospitalized with minor facial injuries. The person operating the Chevrolet pickup was also transported to the hospital as a precaution.
