San Jose Fatal Pedestrian Accident Monterey Highway and Valleyhaven Way

Pedestrian Killed in San Jose Crash Near Monterey Highway and Valleyhaven Way

SAN JOSE, CA (May 28, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed after an accident near Monterey Highway and Valleyhaven Way in San Jose.

According to an article published by The Mercury News, the tragic collision occurred on Friday night. Officers reported the crash at about 9:20 p.m.

The incident happened when a male pedestrian was walking across Monterey Highway in San Jose. At the same time, a dark grey 2020 Jeep Wrangler was going north.

Police said for an unknown reason, the Jeep then struck the man. The driver hit him near the intersection with Valleyhaven Way.

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded and found the victim lying on the ground as a result of the collision. He sustained serious injuries upon impact.

Medical personnel soon pronounced the man dead at the scene. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.

Meanwhile, police affirmed that the driver of the car stopped after hitting the person. The motorist stayed at the crash site and cooperated with the officers.

Officials forced the northbound Monterey Highway, north of Branham Lane, to close following the pedestrian accident. The fatal San Jose collision is still under investigation.
