
Pedestrian Killed in San Jose Crash on Monterey Road
SAN JOSE, CA (May 7, 2023) – A crash killed a pedestrian along Monterey Road in the city of San Jose.
According to The Mercury News and NBC Bay Area, the tragic accident took place late Friday night. Officers reported the collision on May 5 at around 11 p.m.
San Jose police said a vehicle struck a male pedestrian for an unknown reason in the 1900 block of Monterey Road. The car was going south on Monterey when they hit the man.

The impact then knocked the victim onto the ground. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and found him lying in the roadway.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the patient dead at the scene. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police added that the driver did not stop to render aid and fled the area. They also believed that a second motorist ran over the man after he fell.
Officers forced a stretch of Monterey Road. to shut down for a time following the accident. The cause of the fatal San Jose pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
