Man Killed in San Jose Hit-and-Run at Monterey Road and Curtner Avenue

SAN JOSE, CA (April 28, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash killed a pedestrian at Monterey Road and Curtner Avenue in San Jose.

According to the NBC Bay Area and KRON 4 News, the tragic accident occurred on Wednesday night. Officers reported the incident at around 8:30 p.m.

Police said a vehicle struck a male pedestrian for an unknown reason. The driver hit him at the intersection of Monterey Road and Curtner Avenue in San Jose.

Driver Hits Pedestrian, Flees Scene

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene near the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds and Monticello neighborhood. They found the man left lying on the ground.

Medical personnel confirmed that the victim died as a result of the collision. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.

Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the pedestrian and soon fled the area. Officials forced northbound Monterey Road to close for several hours following the crash.

Authorities are still searching for the suspect. The cause of the fatal San Jose hit-and-run collision is still under investigation.
