Pedestrian Killed in San Jose Hit-and-Run Crash Near White and Coldwater
SAN JOSE, CA (March 2, 2022) – A hit-and-run crash killed a pedestrian near White Road and Coldwater Drive in San Jose.
According to The Mercury News and CBS San Francisco, the tragic accident took place on Wednesday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 4:27 p.m. near the Lake Cunningham Park.
The incident happened when a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason. Police said the driver hit the person near the intersection of South White Road and Coldwater Drive in East San Jose.
Driver Hits Victim, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found the victim left lying on the ground. The pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then rushed the patient to a hospital, where they died. The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled the area. Officers forced the corner of White Road and Coldwater Drive to shut down following the incident.
The cause of the fatal San Jose hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
