Motorcyclist Injured in San Jose Hit-and-Run on Highway 101 at De La Cruz Boulevard
SAN JOSE, CA (May 19, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash injured a motorcyclist on Highway 101 at De La Cruz Boulevard in San Jose.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team received a call about the accident on Wednesday night. Officers reported the wreck at about 9:08 p.m.
According to CHP, a vehicle struck the motorcycle rider for an unknown reason in San Jose. The two crashed on the De La Cruz Boulevard on-ramp to southbound Highway 101.
Driver Hits Motorcycle Rider, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene. They found the motorcyclist who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then treated the victim for the unspecified injuries they sustained in the incident. Officials did not disclose the name of the patient and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the other driver involved did not stop to render aid and fled the area. Authorities are still searching for the motorist.
Officers forced the No. 1 lane of the on-ramp to close following the wreck. The San Jose hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
