Motorists are obliged to remain at the scene after being involved in a traffic accident. In this case, the hit-and driver who struck the victim will inevitably face serious charges as leaving the scene of an accident is punishable by law. We are hopeful that the authorities will soon be able to track down the suspect and justice will then be served.
In such cases where negligence or wrongdoing may have been a factor, the injured victim may file a personal injury lawsuit against the at-fault parties seeking compensation for damages including medical expenses, funeral costs, lost future income and loss of love and companionship.
