Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in San Jose Crash on Highway 85 Near Union
SAN JOSE, CA (September 13, 2022) – A crash left a motorcyclist seriously injured on Highway 85 near Union Avenue in San Jose.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident took place on Tuesday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 3:03 p.m.
The incident happened when the motorcyclist and another vehicle collided for an unknown reason in the city of San Jose. CHP said the two crashed on the southbound side of Highway 85 near the Union Avenue off-ramp.
Motorcycle and Vehicle Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They then found the rider and the motorcycle in the center divider as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel rushed the patient to a hospital for treatment of major injuries. The name of the wounded party and their condition at this time were not disclosed.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the other driver ended up hurt or if they stopped following the wreck. The cause of the San Jose crash is still under investigation.
Officers forced the southbound lanes of Highway 85 to shut down near Union after the incident.
