Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in San Jose Crash on Old Bayshore and Highway 101
SAN JOSE, CA (May 26, 2023) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a crash on Old Bayshore Highway and Highway 101 in San Jose.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident took place on Thursday afternoon, May 25. Officers reported the wreck at about 4:43 p.m.
The incident happened when a sprinter van and the rider of a Suzuki motorcycle collided for an unknown reason in San Jose. The two crashed on northbound Highway 101 at the Old Bayshore Highway on-ramp.
Motorcycle and Van Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found the motorcyclist hurt. The patient sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then rushed the victim to a hospital for treatment. The report did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the driver of the van ended up hurt or if they stopped following the wreck. The cause of the San Jose crash is still under investigation.
Officers forced the Old Bayshore on-ramp northbound Highway 101 to shut down after the accident.
