2 Injured in San Leandro Crash at Hesperian Boulevard and Halcyon Drive

SAN LEANDRO, CA (June 15, 2021) – Two were hospitalized after a car crash at Hesperian Boulevard and Halcyon Drive in San Leandro.

According to the East Bay Times and CBS San Francisco, the accident occurred on Tuesday morning. Officers reported the wreck at about 7:40 a.m.

The Alameda County Fire Department said three cars collided for an unknown reason in San Leandro. They crashed at the intersection of Hesperian Boulevard and Halcyon Drive.

Multiple Cars Collide Near Bank Of America

One of the vehicles involved then sheared off a fire hydrant upon impact. The collision sent a plume of water 30-40 feet high, just outside a Bank of America branch

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and then extricated one trapped person from the wreckage. A total of two people ended up hurt as a result of the wreck.

Medical personnel took both patients to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. Officials did not release the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time.

Meanwhile, officers forced the area of Hesperian and Halcyon to shut down following the wreck. Authorities are still determining the cause of the San Leandro crash.
